Ever since Beau was big enough to sit in his Bumbo on the kitchen counter, he has been "involved" with food prep. He used to just wave a teaspoon around in the air, but now he has advanced to actual tasks of his own.
We bought a bunch of fruit at the supermarket and I wanted to try the vinegar-rinse trick my friend had just told me about. So I set up Beau's helper tower, got out the big bowl and colander, and instructed him to start adding the cherries.
He was so meticulous! He was surprisingly very gentle about transferring the fruit and every fourth cherry or so, he'd stop to pull off the stem. Come to find out, he was just saving himself the trouble later. Moments after the berries were rinsed, he was ready to get down from his tower and sit at the table...to EAT.
It's so hard to believe my "baby" is now two. We had a really fun construction-themed birthday party last Saturday, which I can hardly wait to blog about!! So far, two has been a lot of fun! I sure love having a kitchen helper, too!
